i was walkin'
dow-in by my cat's meow
amongst thuh fibers of a rug
*who's name we do not mention*
when it rained suddenly outside
and began to leak under the door
into the rug whence
the meow floated away
and i clung
to the nearest fiber until
the unearthly flicker from the next room
brought to my attention
a non-reinserted feeding tube story sucking the life out
of a normally vibrant and exceedingly interesting tv lineup
and an achy muscle april fool's dance party ache caused me to
slip from the fiber into the place where the meow had been,
from whence i had come and in the drying light of the tv i was now returned.
